Utica, NY – The Utica College women's swim and dive team is in action on Saturday for the team's final home meet of the season. The Pioneers host Clarkson University in a dual meet, beginning at 1 p.m.
Last Time Out: UC lost in a dual meet to St. Lawrence University in its last competition, with the final score reading 118-84.
Grace Gallentine (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) placed first in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle races, with times of 26.11 and 57.36 respectively.
Phoebe King (New Bedford, MA/GNB Voc Tech) earned first place in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 2:01.12. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of
Meagan Stanton (Chemung, NY/Waverly),
Rebecca Merrill (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford),
Domenica Risucci (Utica, NY/Whitesboro), and
Lara McNamara (Yonkers, NY/Maria Regina) swam a time of 1:57.15 on the way to first place. Utica swept the 200-yard breaststroke event, as
Kelcey Madigan (Waverly, NY/Waverly),
Krysta Rehrig (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen), and
Ashley Flint (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) finished first/second/third in the race.
Senior Day: Saturday's meet will be the last chance for the UC seniors to compete at their home pool. This will be the last home meet for all of the following seniors:

Meagan Stanton (Chemung, NY/Waverly). The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., with a brief ceremony for the seniors coming prior to the start of competition. A post-meet gathering for food and refreshments will take place for the seniors and their families to celebrate.
Scouting Clarkson: The Golden Knights most recently lost in a dual meet against SUNY Potsdam, by a score of 191-83. Tiffany Catano earned two first place finishes in the meet. Catano placed first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:13.03) and 200-yard backstroke (2:41.86), while coming away with second in the 200-yard IM. Brooke Atkinson swam a time of 1:15.14 in the 100-yard butterfly, placing first in the event. The team has yet to win a dual meet this year, as the season comes to a close.
Looking Ahead: On Tuesday February 20th, the Pioneers head to Webster, NY for day one of the Empire 8 Championships. The meet begins that Tuesday morning and runs through Saturday, February 24th.
