UC Swim & Dive Falls to Hamilton

Utica, NY - The Utica College men's and women's swim & dive teams fell to Hamilton Friday night by scores of 207-63 and 240-42, respectively.

On the men's side, the Pioneers posted seven top-thee finishes. 
Sean Neary and Coleman Barry were the only Pioneers to finish with multiple top-three finishes, as Neary finished in third in the 50 yard freestyle (25.55) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:18.66) while Barry (1:02.92) did the same in the 100 yard IM and 100 yard backstroke (1:08.51).
Michael Leyburn started the night out strong, finishing in third in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 29.82.

Lucas DiLego also notched a third place finish in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 56.06. Jackson Sorbello did the same in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 26.27 to finish out the dual meet. Barry, Leyburn, Dilego and freshman Nick Massa also finished in third in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:49.02.

Diver Matthew Patton went uncontested, and he scored 166.20 and 392.75 on the one meter board. 

On the women's side, Katie Delgado (Greene, NY/Broome CCC) finished fourth in both the 50 yard backstroke (34.47) and 100 yard freestyle (1:04.24). Kelly Waryncia (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) also had two fourth-place finishes in the 50 yard breaststroke (38.14) 100 yard backstroke (1:13.34). Daniela Hannah (Dalton, GA/Northwest Whitfield) started out strong, posting a time of 12:54.82 in the 1000 yard freestyle to finish fourth overall as well.

Diver Mackenzie Farina (Amsterdam/Amsterdam) finished second overall with a 72.90 on the board.

Utica heads back on to the road Rochester for the Roberts Wesleyan Invitational tomorrow at 1 p.m. Both the men's and women's teams are set for matchups against Roberts Wesleyan and Wells College.
