Women's Swim & Dive Set for Cazenovia Dual Meet

Utica, NY - The Utica College women's swim & dive team is set for a road dual meet against the Cazenovia Wildcats Friday at 6 p.m.

Last Time Out: The Pioneers fell to Skidmore on Saturday, November 23, in dual meet at the Utica College Pool by a score of 195-58.
 
Kate Anderson (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook), Rebecca Merrill (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford) and Kelly Waryncia (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) kept their stride in this meet, as they were the only Pioneers to post multiple top-two finishes on the women's side. 
 
Anderson notched second-place finishes in both the 200 and 50 yard freestyle with times of 2:14.52 and 28.37, respectively. Merrill continued her impressive 2019-2020 campaign, as she had two second-place finishes in the 200 yard butterfly (2:31.06) and 500 yard freestyle (6:12.87). Waryncia rounded out this group with second-place finishes in the 200 yard backstroke (2:36.15) and 100 yard freestyle (1:13.44).
 
Katie Delgado (Greene, NY/Broome CCC) closed out the women's sheet for UC with a second-place finish in the 100 yard freestyle, tabbing a time of 1:03.91.

Favorable History: Utica has a steep advantage when it comes to its history against the Wildcats, as the Pioneers have accumulated a 17-6 overall record against them over a 12-year span.

Up Next: The Pioneers have a month and a half off before returning to action Friday, January 17 at 1 p.m. on the road against Alfred University.
