Rochester, NY - Sophomore guard
Darius Hopkins (Tampa, FL/Seffner Christian) was named to the Empire 8 Conference All-Tournament team for his stellar outing in an opening-round loss to St. John Fisher last Friday night.
Hopkins finished the contest with a team-high 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 mark from the charity stripe. The Tampa, Florida native also added four rebounds and two assists in the process. The Utica College men's basketball team finished with an overall record of 18-8, marking the most wins in a single season for the program since 2007. Hopkins, who was named a First-Team All-Conference selection last week, led the Pioneers in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game throughout the 2019-20 season.
UC will return all but two of its players from this year's team for the 2020-21 season.
