ONEONTA, NY - The Utica College men's and women's swim and dive teams finished the Hartwick quad meet 1-2 overall with both teams beating SUNY Delhi in the event. The men's team defeated Delhi, 107-19, while the women's team downed the Broncos, 137-31.
For the women,
Amelia Laible (Oakdale, NY/Connetquot),
Kira Seaman (Fort Edward, NY/Hudson Falls),
Kelly Waryncia (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and
Katie Delgado (Greene, NY/Broome CCC) placed second in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:10:34. Liable and
Kate Anderson (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) also finished in the top-5 in the 100 yard backstroke with Laible coming in at 1:10:78 and Anderson finishing with a time of 1:13:17. Delgado's time of 28.11 in the 50 yard freestyle placed her fifth in the event as well.
On the men's side, Jackson Sorbello finished fourth in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:04:61. Michael Colocho claimed fifth place with a mark of 1:19:33 in the 100 yard breaststroke while Chase Dobbertin's time of 24.84 in the 50 yard freestyle placed him seventh out of 13.
Both teams will travel to Rochester, NY next Saturday, October 30 for a 1 p.m. tri-meet against the host Roberts Wesleyan College and William Smith College.
