MINNEAPOLIS, MN - After receiving Empire 8 Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday, Utica University football kicker Corey Lichtman (Bellemore, NY/Mepham) has been recognized by D3football.com as he was named to its Team of the Week on Tuesday. 
 
This is the 24th season that D3football.com has selected the Team of the Week, which honors the top player nationally at each position from the previous week.
 
Lichtman was the difference maker in the Pioneers 23-21 win over Western New England on Saturday. He was three-for-three on his field goal attempts of 42, 26, and 50 yards. The 50-yard field goal ties the school record held by Denis Avdic, which was set in 2009. Lichtman has now kicked the longest field goal in the Empire 8 Conference so far this season. He also converted on both point-after touchdown attempts of the afternoon.

Lichtman and the Pioneers are back in action on Saturday as the team takes on No. 25 Union College at 1 p.m. in Schenectady, NY.
