DANBURY, CT -
Madison Ranalli (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) adds to her decorated Pioneer career as she has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Year, as announced by the ECAC on Monday.
Ranalli topped the Empire 8 for the second year in a row in defensive saves by a landslide with a total of 17. She not only broke her own single-season and E8 record of 15 from 2022, but she once again led the nation across all levels in defensive saves just as she did last season. Her 17 defensive saves finished tied for the 23rd most in a single season in NCAA Division III history.
The senior's career total of 32 defensive saves are second all-time in Empire 8 history (one behind the all-time conference leader) and rank 18th all-time in NCAA Division III history.
Previously, Ranalli was named the Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year, the first in program history to earn the honor, as well as to the All-Empire 8 First Team.
