UTICA, NY - The Utica University women's track and field team will attend the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday, January 31, at 9am in Boston, Massachusetts at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.

Last Time Out: On Saturday January 25, the women's track team took first place at the St. Lawrence Invitational in Canton, NY with a score of 207 points. In the 4x200m relay,
Arianna McClendon (/New York Mills),
Nyasia Marsh (Westmoreland, NY/Westmoreland),
Shiann Williams (Bronx, NY/Hydel), and Lily Messler achieved not only first place but also the best time of the season with a 1:50.77. In their individual performances in the 200m McClendon and Marsh continued their dominance by winning first and second place with times of 27.70 and 27.97 respectively. Continuing her reign at the top of the podium, McClendon also achieved first place in the 400m with a 1:01.00. She was closely followed by teammate Williams with a 1:01.44.
Marlo Townsend (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) ran her way into the eighth spot of all time in the 3000m with a time of 11:07.06. In the 60m hurdles, with a time of 9.84.

Field Finishers: High jumper
Hannah Allison (Herkimer, NY/Herkimer) took first place with a 1.55m leap and was accompanied by
Jada Anthony (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South) who received second place with a 1.45m.
Cassondra Wood (Canasota, NY/Canasota) placed first in the pole vault with 2.75m and
Amber Piersma (Cassville, NY/Mount Markham) placed second with a vault of 2.60m. Jumping into first place,
Sophia Bruce (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) hit a 10.00m jump and was followed by
Camdyn Cole (Cortland, NY/Homer) and
Leigha Soto (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) in third and fourth place.
Ranasia Bailey (Parish, NY/Altmar-Parish-Williamstown) took third place in the shot put with a toss of 9.63m. The Pioneers dominated the weight throw podium with second, third, and fourth place finishes by
Riley King (Oswego, NY/Oswego),
Hailey Hrouda (Wappingers Falls, NY/Roy C. Ketcham), and
Ranasia Bailey (Parish, NY/Altmar-Parish-Williamstown).

Shipping up to Boston: The female Pioneers have 15 entries at this exclusive meet in Boston. Senior
Nora Devitt (Beverly, MA/Beverly) is competing in both long jump and triple jump. Three throwers made the cut to compete for Utica in the weight throw, which include
Ranasia Bailey (Parish, NY/Altmar-Parish-Williamstown),
Hailey Hrouda (Wappingers Falls, NY/Roy C. Ketcham), and
Riley King (Oswego, NY/Oswego). Freshmen
Marlo Townsend (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) and
Catherine Manna (Whitesboro, NY/whitesboro) are competing head-to-head in the 1 mile run.
Isabella Frick (Longmeadow, MA/Longmeadow) will be a competitor back in her home state of Massachusetts in the 60m hurdles. Senior
Jade Dening (Remsen, NY/Remsen) will make her mark in the 800m. The Fantastic Four consisting of
Arianna McClendon (/New York Mills),
Nyasia Marsh (Westmoreland, NY/Westmoreland),
Shiann Williams (Bronx, NY/Hydel), and Lily Messler will participate in the 4x400m relay. McClendon, Marsh, and Willliams will all be joining in the 200m dash alongside one another. Showcasing her impressive speed, McClendon will also compete in the 400m dash. Marsh is also set to participate in the pole vault event.
