UTICA, NY - The Utica University women's cross country team is set to travel to Glassboro, NJ to take on the Rowan Border Battle, hosted by Rowan University. Start time on Saturday, October 18 is set for 11am.

Last Time Out: The team took second place out of six teams at the Hamilton Invitational, hosted by Hamilton College on Saturday morning. Leading the way for the Pioneers was
Marlo Townsend (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy), who took home a fourth place finish with a time of 18:37.8. Townsend was the first member of an Empire 8 team to cross the finish line this morning.
Lacey Simmons (Vernon Center, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) was the next best Pioneer finisher with a time of 20:3.9 to take home 14th place.
Emma Charboneau (Fultonville, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) and
Isabella Verdejo (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) were next across the line for the Pioneers, registering a 23rd place time of 21:56.1 and a 25th place time of 22:39.8, respectively. Rounding out the scorecard for the Pioneers was Caroline Young who finished with a time of 23:18.9 and
Kamryn Williams (New York Mills, NY/New York Mills) who finished with a time of 24:14.3.
Who's Going: Over 50 teams are set to compete in the DIII Championship race. Utica alongside St. John Fisher will serve as the only Empire 8 competition set to compete in the race.
About the Course: The race will be held at the Gloucester County Dream Park Championship Cross Country Course. The course itself is mostly flat with soft grass and dirt trails.
Up Next: The team returns to take on the final race before the Empire 8 Championships, the Hamilton Short Course Tuneup, hosted by Hamilton College. Start time on Saturday, October 25 is set for 12pm.
