ROCHESTER, NY - The Utica University women's indoor track and field team completed its weekend at the DIII Elite Meet on Saturday afternoon.
In the 60m final, Nyasia Marsh (Westmoreland, NY/Westmoreland) and Shiann Williams (Bronx, NY/Hydel) continued their dominance in the event. Marsh took home fourth place with a time of 8.14, while Williams took sixth place with a time of 8.15.
Marsh continued her day on the track with a second place finish in the 400m, clocking a time of 58.45 to slot herself in at second on the all time leaderboard in the event. Marsh finished her day as the top Pioneer finisher in the 200m, finishing just inside the top 25 with a time of 27.40.
In the 3000m, Catherine Manna (Whitesboro, NY/whitesboro) put together a stellar performance by setting a new school record in the event. Manna shattered the previous record (10:45.97, 2018) by nearly 10 seconds with a time of 10:36.65. Marlo Townsend (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) also clocked in at 10:41.38 to slot herself in at second on the all time leaderboard in the event.
In the shot put, Riley King (Oswego, NY/Oswego) was the top Pioneer finisher with an 11.11m toss to finish just inside the top 20.
In the triple jump, Nora Devitt (Beverly, MA/Beverly) took the top spot in the event with an 11.20m leap. Zeniyah Gholson (Monticello, NY/Monticello) finished with another top 10 performance with a 10.37m leap while Sophia Bruce (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) finished in 15th with a 10.10m leap.
In the high jump, Hannah Allison (Herkimer, NY/Herkimer) had herself a fantastic outing, setting a new school record in the event with a 1.61m jump. The previous record was set in 2022 at 1.60m.
The Pioneers return to action next weekend on Saturday, February 22 as the team hosts the Pioneer Fast Trax Invitational. Start time inside the Todd and Jenn Hutton Sports and Recreation Center is set for 2pm.
