UTICA, NY - The Utica university women's track and field team put together a strong showing at the Blue and Orange Invitational on Saturday, February 7.
In the 200m invitational final,
Shiann Williams (Bronx, NY/Hydel) was the top Pioneer finisher in fifth place with a time of 26.19 to place her fourth on the all time list in the event. In the 200m final,
Arianna McClendon (/New York Mills) finished just outside the top 10 with a time of 27.16. In the 400m,
Lilly Messler (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) was the team's top finisher with a time of 1:07.24 to lock in a top 25 finish. In the 800m,
Catherine Manna (Whitesboro, NY/whitesboro) finished inside the top 25 with a time of 2:28.99. In the 5000m,
Marlo Townsend (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) finished in seventh place with a time of 19:08.59 to lock up the third slot on the all time list.
In the high jump,
Hannah Allison (Herkimer, NY/Herkimer) locked up the number two slot on the all-time list with a jump of 1.58m. In the pole vault,
Cassondra Wood (Canasota, NY/Canasota) was the team's top finisher with a vault of 2.87m. In the long jump,
Nora Devitt (Beverly, MA/Beverly) led the Pioneers with a leap of 5.02m. In the triple jump, the Pioneers locked up two of the top five finishes, with
Zeniyah Gholson (Monticello, NY/Monticello) taking second place with a leap of 11.05m, and Devitt with a leap of 10.95m. In the weight throw,
Riley King (Oswego, NY/Oswego) took home fifth place with a throw of 15.75m to slot herself in at #2 on the all time list.
Utica will travel to the DIII Elite Meet hosted by Nazareth University on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15.
