UTICA, NY - The Utica University women's outdoor track and field team wrapped up the Pioneer Almost Spring Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
In the 4x100m relay, the team of Amelia Petersen (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville), Lilly Messler (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville), Nyasia Marsh (Westmoreland, NY/Westmoreland), and Mackenzie Mix (Camden, NY/Camden) took home first place with a time of 50.70.
In the 1500m, Jade Dening (Remsen, NY/Remsen), Catherine Manna (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), and Marlo Townsend (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) went 1-2-3 in the event, each clocking in with times under 5:05.
In the 110m hurdles, Petersen took home third place with a time of 17.80.
In the 400m, Mix notched her first win in the event of the season with a time of 1:00.96.
In the 100m, Marsh was crowned the fastest woman with a time of 13.30 to take home first place.
In the 200m, Marsh took home another top five finish with a time of 27.90.
In the shot put, Riley King (Oswego, NY/Oswego) continued her dominance with a fourth place finish of a 10.16m toss.
In the hammer throw, King shattered her previous school record with a 47.57m throw, besting her previous record of 47.41m last season.
In the discus throw, King once again cleaned up with a third place throw of 28.24m.
In the long jump, Stefania Grimaldi (Poland, NY/Poland Central) finished in second place with a 5.16m leap.
In the high jump, Hannah Allison (Herkimer, NY/Herkimer) took home the crown after setting a new school record in the event with a 1.61m jump.
In the pole vault, Cassondra Wood (Canasota, NY/Canasota) took home first place with a 2.90m vault.
Utica returns to action on Saturday, April 5 as the team travels to nearby Clinton, NY for the Hamilton Outdoor Invitational. Start time is slated for 10am.
