Four Women's Track and Field Athletes Achieve Outdoor All-Conference Honors

ROCHESTER, NY - The Empire 8 Conference has officially released the 2025 outdoor women's track and field All-Conference selections, giving recognition to the top performers from this past season's Empire 8 Championships. Among the conference's elite are a plethora of Pioneers who were able to set staggering marks at the competition. These four excellent competitors took care of business in four different events, reeling in all-conference honors thanks to their productive outings. Here are the Pioneers' Empire 8 All-Conference and Sportswoman of the Year selections.

Stefania Grimaldi (Poland, NY/Poland Central) | All-Conference First Team (Heptathlon)
Grimaldi gained a first team all-conference nod after dominating the heptathlon at the Empire 8 Conference Championships, taking home the gold thanks to a 3,868-point finish. The all-around ace for the Pioneers set all sorts of program records, even placing extremely high in the record books for many of the individual events included in the heptathlon. Grimaldi, who was just a sophomore this past season, headlines a very promising group of Pioneer underclassmen.

Nora Devitt (Beverly, MA/Beverly) | All-Conference Second Team (Triple Jump)
Devitt dominated the competition in the triple jump at this past season's Empire 8 Championships, taking home second place in the event. The Pioneers' leaping veteran grabbed a mark of 11.02 meters at the championships, earning a second team all-conference honor thanks to her superb jump. She competed well in the triple jump all spring, also achieving a USTFCCCA All-Region nod.

Hannah Allison (Herkimer, NY/Herkimer) | All-Conference Second Team (High Jump)
Allison continued to raise the bar this season after a record-breaking freshman year in 2024. The Herkimer native nabbed second place and a second team all-conference selection at the 2025 Empire 8 Championships due to a leap of 1.60m. Now entering her junior year, Allison looks to continue breaking the program's high jump record, a title she's held since early on in her freshman campaign.

Marlo Townsend (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) | All-Conference Third Team (10,000m)
Townsend, the Pioneers' long-distance specialist, blazed a path to third place at the Empire 8 Championships, achieving a time of 39:21.75 to bring home the bronze and achieve a third team all-conference honor. Townsend, who got it done in the longest event at the championships, will attempt to pick up more hardware in the fall with the cross country team.

Riley King (Oswego, NY/Oswego) | Utica Women's Track and Field Empire 8 Sportswoman of the Year
King was a standout in the circle during her sophomore season, especially in the hammer throw, where she had an all-time year. King featured well in many different meets, but it was at the AARTFC Regional Championships where her hammer toss of 48.26m set an all-time program record for the event. King will look to keep raising the bar during her junior year.
