UTICA, NY (12/5/11)- Meghan Fiore of the Utica College women’s basketball team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.
Fiore a junior forward out of Epping, NH scored 27 points and added nine rebounds as Utica defeated Wells on Tuesday. On Saturday, she had a double-double (21 points, 10 rebounds) in UC’s 48-44 victory over cross-town rival Hamilton College.
Over the course of three games last week, she averaged 18.7 points and ten rebounds per game. She also made 70 percent of her free throws.
Fiore is tied for the team lead with 96 points and has a team-high 19.2 points-per-game average. She also leads the team in defensive rebounds (25) and total rebounds (40).
UC (4-2) returns to action Monday when it hosts Cazenovia for a non-conference match up. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
