Utica, NY (3/18/13) - Junior Megan Myers of the Utica College women’s hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week Monday after being named to the CCM Division III All-American Second Team last week.

Myers received this recognition after another outstanding season where she finished the year ranked third in the conference in scoring with 31 points (17 goals, 14 assists).  This is the third season in a row that the Pioneer has tallied double-digit goals, points and assists.  She has led the team in points in each of the last three seasons and has been named to consecutive ECAC All-Confernece First-Teams.

This past season she became just the third player in program history to reach 100 points in her career, joining All-Americans Stephanie Price ‘07 and Deana Wiegand ‘07.  She ranks second on the College’s all-time goal scoring list with 55 career goals and is third all-time in points (104). She has totaled at least 30 points in each of her first three seasons.

The Pioneers wrapped up their 2012-13 campaign with an overall record of 16-9-2 and finished in a tie for third in the ECAC Women’s West Conference with an 9-5-2 mark.  UC went as far as the ECAC West semifinals only to lose to eventual National Champion, Elmira College.
