Utica, NY (4/15/2013) - Freshmen midfielder Trent Jacobs of the Utica College men’s lacrosse team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week Monday for his impressive performance in the Pioneers last two games.

Jacobs, in his first year at UC, has already begun to solidify himself as one of its top players.  In his last two games, he has tallied seven points on five goals and two assists as he led UC to a 1-1 record this past week against Houghton College and Stevens Institute of Technology.

In 11 games this season, he is second on the team in points (26), third in goals (20) while carrying a .722% in shots on goal. The Hogansburg native is also in the top 20 for goals on the year in the Empire 8 Conference and also is currently third in the Conference with a 55.6 shots percentage.

The Pioneers are currently 7-4 overall on the year including a 2-2 mark in the Empire 8 Conference.  UC is back on the field April. 17 as it welcomes conference rival Ithaca College to the Charles A. Gaetano Stadium. Opening Face-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
