Utica University Athletics

Utica, NY (January 27, 2014) - Freshman Mikey Maxwell of the Utica College women’s swim team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week Monday as she led UC with two wins this past Saturday at Nazareth.

Maxwell won both of her respected events as Utica was downed by Nazareth College 181-56. She took first in the 100 yard fly (1:17.57) and 200 medley (2:50.07). She has been a standout for Utica this season which  is currently 2-9 overall.

UC returns to action Saturday as the team heads to Canton, NY to challenge St. Lawrence.  The competition is set for 1 p.m. It is the final meet before the Empire 8 Championships on February 19th at Ithaca College.
