UTICA, NY- Utica junior quarterback Teddy VanGalen was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for his performance against Morrisville State on Saturday.

VanGalen had a career high 313 passing yards and tied his career high with two touchdowns against Morrisville. VanGalen completed 25 of 39 pass attempts for a 64.1% completion rating as the Pioneers defeated the Mustangs 38-14.

VanGalen is currently in first place in the Empire 8 Conference in completions (63). He is also second in the Empire 8 in passing yards (876) and in average yards per game (292.0).  His 876 passing yards are also 17th nationally. VanGalen’s primary target, Greg Palmer, ranks 12th nationally with 378 receiving yards.

The Pioneers are on the road next week against SUNY Cortland (1 p.m.) after improving their record to 2-1 on the year and 1-0 in conference play.
