UTICA, NY- Freshman field hockey player Rylee Meelan has been named the Utica College Female Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

In two games, Meelan totaled five points off of two goals and one assist. She had a total of nine shots.

Meelan’s two goals and one assist were her first career points and helped aid the Pioneers in a 4-1 victory over Empire 8 Conference rival Elmira on Saturday.

The Pioneers (2-5, 1-0 Empire 8) will return to action at home next week against two Empire 8 opponents. Utica will face Nazareth College at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Houghton College at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
