UTICA, NY – Junior Keira Goin of the Utica College women’s hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the week on Monday.

The Pioneers defeated Cortland State on Thursday in the ECAC West Conference Tournament quarterfinals 5-0. Goin made 28 saves and it was her seventh shutout of the season, which is the most in the College’s single season history. She is also tied for fifth in the nation for shut outs, and fifth in the nation in save percentage (.950) this season.

Utica advances to the ECAC West Conference Tournament semifinals after its victory over Cortland State. The Pioneers (18-7-1, ECAC West 13-4-1) will travel to Plattsburgh, New York on Saturday to face off against Elmira College. The game is scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
