UTICA, NY – Senior Rachael Scaramuzzino of the Utica College field hockey team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Scaramuzzino posted four goals in just three games, totaling eight points, which is good enough for second on the team at the midway mark of the season. She also leads the team in shooting percentage at 44 percent.

Scaramuzzino’s two goals against Hartwick gave the Pioneers their first victory of the season. Sitting at 2-7 with nine games remaining, Utica has the chance to turn it around and end the year with a winning percentage above .500.

The Pioneers (2-7, 1-3 Empire 8) will return to action at home against Hamilton College on Wednesday. Utica will also face Washington and Jefferson College in Empire 8 action at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
