UTICA, NY- Sophomore thrower Molly Ferguson of the Utica College women’s track and field team has been selected as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Gerry Gravel Classic on Saturday.
 
Ferguson competed in three events at the meet and finished in the top ten in all three of them. Her highest finish came in the discus throw where her distance of 35.13 meters earned her a first place finish. It was Ferguson’s fifth first place finish in her career and first in 2017.
 
Ferguson went on to finish ninth in the shot put with a mark of 10.39 meters and tenth in the hammer throw with a distance of 35.11 meters, which is a new career-high.
 
The team returns to action on Tuesday for the Hamilton College Midweek Meet, which is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
