Utica University Athletics

UTICA, NY- Freshman Josh Kienz of the Utica College men’s golf team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week, Monday.
 
Kienz led Utica and placed eighth overall after the first two rounds of the Empire 8 men’s golf championship as he shot a 154 on the weekend.  The Pioneers are currently in fifth place overall with a two-round total of 654 at the event.  The final two rounds of the tournament will take place in the spring of 2018.   
 
Kienz has been Utica’s highest finisher in each of its three contests this year.  He has placed in the top-10 individually in each of the last two weekends and has not finished lower than 11^th place so far this season. 
 
The Pioneers will return to action this weekend as they host the two-day UC Invitational at the Yahnundasis Golf Club in nearby New Hartford, NY.
