Utica, NY - Kara O'Driscoll of the Utica College women's golf team has been named UC Female athlete of the week for her performance at the Utica College Invitational.
The Junior was the tournament medalist with a pair of rounds of 87, good for 174 strokes. She finished two strokes better than her performance from last season at the same event. O'Driscoll was 28 over par for the Pioneers, who were crowned champions of the tournament with a two-day, program record finish of 737 strokes on the weekend.
Utica swept the top four spots of the invitational, with freshman Abby Ainsworth, junior Olivia Hirschy and freshman Hannah Kirk finishing second, third and fourth, respectively.
This marks the first championship finish for the Pioneers all season, and they will look to keep this success going in the SUNY Cortland Invitational this upcoming weekend.
