Senior midfielder #Emily Young# of the Utica College women’s soccer team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the week after guiding the Pioneers’ to a 1-1 tie against Empire 8 Conference rival Hartwick College Wednesday afternoon.

Young headed home the Pioneers’ lone goal of the contest, her first of the year, off a corner kick from classmate Cheyenne Chrzanowski just 4:20 into the contest.

The Pioneers, who are now 1-1-1 in conference play, return to the pitch Saturday against visiting RIT. The contest is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
