UTICA, NY- Defensive End Nick Woodman (Utica, NY/Proctor), and kicker Thomas Woodburn (West Islip, NY/West Islip) of the Utica College football team have been selected to play in the 4^th Annual National Bowl Game on Sunday Dec. 6 at Florida International University's Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium. Woodman and Woodburn will play on the American team who will be wearing white jerseys.
 
The National Bowl Game is an annual post-season college football all-star game consisting of top players from Non-FBS schools. The National Bowl Game showcases All-American and All Conference seniors from around the Nation that travel to the game from over 30 states representing over 400+ Division 2,3 & NAIA schools. Players travel to the game from as far as Texas, Arkansas, Oregon, Colorado, Michigan, Utah, South Dakota and more. The National Bowl is the elite and only current post-season all-star game to focus on non-FBS players that get the opportunity to play in front of several NFL and CFL scouts. The National Bowl is presented by East Preps LLC.

The rosters give NFL/CFL scouts a chance to view and get to know some of the best players from smaller schools over the bowl weekend. The National Bowl is coached by pro coaches and has featured coaches such as AFL's Brian Ferguson and veteran arena coach Kevin O'Hanlon who are set to return for the 2015 game.
 
Woodman recently made his third straight Empire 8 All-Conference appearance and his second straight first team selection. He will graduate ranked first all-time at UC in career sacks (29.5), second in career forced fumbles (six), fifth all-time in career tackles for a loss (114), and he tied for first in single season tackles for a loss (20.0).  He also broke his own school-record with 13.0 sacks this past season. He ranks first in the conference and fifth in DIII in sacks per game (1.30) and first in the conference and eighth in DIII in tackles for a loss per game (2.0). He finished the season with 66 total tackles, two forced fumbles, two blocked kicks, and one touchdown.
 
Woodburn was named an Empire 8 All-Conference selection for the second time in his collegiate career this past season. He also earned one of the Conference's top honors as the Special Teams Player of the Year.  He finished his collegiate career as the College's all-time leading scorer with 232 career points. He will also graduate as the College's all-time leader in extra points made (109) and field goals made (41). Woodburn is currently second in all of college football (FBS, FCS, DII, DIII) in field goals per game (2.20).
 
Woodburn led Division III in field goals per game (2.20) while leading the conference and ranking sixth in DIII in field goal percentage (.846). He tied the College's single season points record (90), and he broke the single season field goals made record with 22. His 22 field goals this season are tied for second in the NCAA Division III single season record book. He made 22 out of 26 field goals, including two from 44 and 45 yards out. He also became the first player in UC history to record over 200 career points with 232.
