CICERO, NY - The Utica University men's golf team placed third overall out of eight teams at the Empire 8 Championship on Monday evening. The team combined for a +26 on day two after shooting +35 on day one.

Daniel Maloney () was Utica's top finisher, tying for fifth place overall after shooting six over on day one and four over on day two (76 strokes).

Maloney hit for birdie on his first hole, setting the pace for the rest of the afternoon as he went on to hit a 38 on holes 1-9 and a 38 on 10-18.

Nathan Macdonald (Canton, MA/Canton) placed 11th, shooting +14 over the two-day tournament (76 strokes). Macondald shot the first six holes for par and only had four holes where he went one over.

Louie Roman (Oswego, NY/Oswego) took 15th overall, shooting +19. He shot seven over on day one and 12 over on day two.

Adam Woodmansee (Brewerton, NY/Paul V. Moore) and
Neil Roman (Oswego, NY/Oswego) tied for 18th place, shooting +22.
Joey Bagnato (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) rounded out the scorecard in the 40th and carded a +35.
