UTICA, NY - Genna McCallum (Mora, MN/Indian River) and Koltin Pickell (Ellenville, NY/Ellenvlle) have been named the Pioneer Athletes of the Week for the week of April 27th, 2026.

Freshman golfer Koltin Pickell (Ellenville, NY/Ellenvlle) had an extremely solid day at the Oswego Spring Invitational this past weekend, as the rookie tied for fourth place out of a field of 47 participants at the event. Pickell had a strong back-9 on both days of the competition, shooting par on holes 10-18 on day one, and shooting a -1 on holes 10-18 on day two. Pickell would wrap up day two with a +2 on his second go around on the course. The Pioneer rookie played well in the team's final meet of the 2025-2026 season.

Freshman pole vaulter Genna McCallum (Mora, MN/Indian River) had a standout Friday showing at the Capital District Classic in Troy, NY, finally breaking through to achieve a new school record in addition to taking home first place in her specific event. McCallum, who spent numerous weeks tying the previous program record of 3.20m, managed to leap past that previous mark, notching a 3.35m vault to set the new all-time program best while defeating all other vaulters to claim first place. 

McCallum and the Pioneers will head to St. John Fisher this weekend for the Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
