Katherine Sheahan (Oak Lawn, IL) and Jalen Lucero (Albuquerque, NM/Higley) have been awarded Pioneer Athlete of the Week honors for the week of 11/10/2025.

Jalen Lucero (Albuquerque, NM/Higley) scored one of the most impactful goals in program history this past Wednesday during the Empire 8 Semifinals against #1 seeded Geneseo, flipping the match on its head with an 89th-minute equalizer to send the game to overtime. With just minutes remaining, Lucero found some space on the right side of the box and sent a rocket off the far post, which ricocheted off a Knight defender and into the net. Lucero's score gave the Pioneers all the momentum heading into the extra period, and the junior attacker was a big part of the effort that saw the Pioneers outplay the hosts during regulation and overtime. 

Katherine Sheahan (Oak Lawn, IL) was a wall between the pipes in the Pioneers recent 1-0 win against #11 ranked SUNY Oswego. The freshman recorded her first collegiate win with an emphatic 40 save shutout while making some incredible stops during the contest. The Pioneers Women's Hockey team returns to play this Friday 11/14 at 4pm to take on the Hilbert Hawks on Professor Appreciation Night.
