Utica University Athletics

Utica, NY (5-7-12) – Freshman Lauren DeLude, of the Utica College women’s track and field team, was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week Monday.

DeLude won two events Saturday at the NYSCTC Outdoor Championships held at the University of Rochester. The Herkimer, NY native won 100 meter dash with a final time of 12.63 and the 200 meter dash, clocking a time of 25.48.  She also placed second in the long jump with a launch of 5.44 meters.

Recently named Empire 8 First-Team All-Conference, Delude was honored with E8 Athlete of the Meet at the conference championships and also earned E8 Athlete of the Week four times throughout her first-year campaign.

UC returns to action Saturday as its heads to Oneonta, NY for the Oneonta State May Meet.  The events will be held at the All College Field and Track and are scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
