Utica, NY (10/29/12)- Sophomore Madison Bayer of the Utica College volleyball team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.

Bayer, a native of Islip Terrace, NY recorded two double-doubles as the Pioneers went 2-0 last week.  On Wednesday she recorded 19 kills and 19 digs in Utica’s 3-1 win over Sage.  She followed that up on Saturday with 11 kills and 11 digs as UC topped Cazenovia 3-2. 

Bayer led the Pioneers with 211 kills and 24 service aces on the season.  Utica wrapped up its 2012 campaign with a 9-21 record and its best season since 2009.
