Utica, NY (11/19/12)- Senior Meghan Fiore of the Utica College women’s basketball team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.
The Epping, NH native totaled 40 points in two games for the Pioneers last week. On Thursday, she had 25 points and 12 boards for a double-double in UC's season-opening victory over Potsdam, 58-35. She followed that up on Saturday by leading all players with 15 points as the Pioneers cruised by Sage 79-55.
Fiore is the program's active scoring leader with 1,153 career points through 81 games played. She leads the team averaging 20 points and has recorded 56 minutes of work through two games this season.
The Pioneers return to action Monday, Nov. 26 as they opened up home play against Oneonta State. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
