Utica, NY (12-17-12) – Senior forward Meghan Fiore of the Utica College women’s basketball team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for her performance on the court this past week.
Fiore posted her second straight double–double, and fourth of the season, Tuesday when she tallied 18 points and 11 rebounds, despite a close 47-44 loss to Union College. The Epping, NH native currently leads the team and ranks fourth in the conference in scoring with 15.8 points per game. She is also fourth in the Empire 8 in field goal percentage (50.9%) and sixth in total rebounds (70).
The Pioneers currently hold a 4-5 overall record, including a 1-1 mark in the Empire 8 Conference and return to action Saturday Dec. 29 as they travel to Madison, NJ to challenge Drew University. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. at the Simon Forum and Athletic Center.
