Utica, NY (1-7-13) – Senior Marissa Hotaling, of the Utica College women’s hockey team, was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week Monday for her performance between the pipes this past weekend.

Hotaling, from nearby Whitesboro, NY, collected her first win of the season on Saturday in shut out fashion as UC downed nationally-ranked No. 7 Manhattanville College, 4-0, at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.  She registered a season-best 27 saves, allowing no scores, against one of the best teams in the nation.

Utica moved its overall record to 5-6 while remaining 3-3 in ECAC Women’s West play.  The Pioneers snapped a three-game slide with Saturday’s victory and will wrap up their six-game homestand next Saturday Jan. 12th as they host SUNY Potsdam for a 4 p.m. face-off.  UC will then head to Potsdam, NY on Sunday for a 2 p.m. scheduled start time.
