Utica, NY (1/22/13)- Junior Megan Myers of the Utica College women’s hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.
The forward had three goals and three assists to help the Pioneers sweep conference foe, Neumann University last weekend. On Saturday, Myers had a hand in every Utica goal, scoring twice herself and assisting on the game-winner in a 3-2 overtime victory. On Sunday, she added a goal and two assists in UC’s 4-1 win over the Knights.
Myers is tied for fourth in the conference with 11 goals and has a team-high 19 points on the year. She is fifth in the ECAC West and 14th nationally in points per game (1.27) and also has a league-best four power play goals.
The Pioneers are 8-6-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the ECAC West Conference. UC returns to action this weekend as it hosts Chatham University for a two-game conference series.
