UTICA, NY – Freshman Emily Coope, of the Utica College women’s hockey team, was named Utica College Female Athlete of the Week Monday for her efforts on the ice over the weekend.

Coope led Utica to a 2-1 week in ECAC West play as she tallied two goals and one assist including the game winner on Saturday night against Chatham. She currently ranks fourth on the team with ten points on five goals and five assists.  UC lost, 1-0 last Tuesday and bounced back with a weekend sweep over Chatham.

The Pioneers (8-8-4, 6-5-3 ECAC West) remain home Tuesday as they welcome non-conference rival SUNY Canton for the 3^rd Annual Shawn Grady Memorial Gold Ribbon Game.  The puck is scheduled to drop at 7 p.m. at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
