Utica, N.Y. - Junior hurdler Joseph Pruckno (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) of the Utica College men’s track & field team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 27.

Pruckno won the men’s 55 meter hurdles with an NCAA provisional cut time of 7.67 Saturday at the 2011 NYSCTC Indoor Track & Field Championship. He also recorded a time of 6.65 to earn fourth place in the men’s 55 meter dash, just .2 seconds behind the third place winner.

Earlier this season he earned Empire 8 Men’s Indoor Track & Field All-Conference First Team status in the 55 meter hurdles when he broke the meet record with a time of 7.69.
The Pioneers will return to the track on March 4 when they travel to the Armory in New York City for the ECAC Championships.
