UTICA, NY – Senior first baseman Adam Bittel (New Hartford, CT) of the Utica College baseball team was named the College's Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 20.

Bittel recorded six hits, three RBIs and two runs at the Snowbird Baseball Classic in Port Charlotte, FL last week as UC.

He led the Pioneers in batting average (.400), slugging percentage (.533) and on-base percent (.471). He also boasts a .958 fielding percentage, which includes 23 putouts.

In the Pioneers’ season opener against nationally-ranked No.1 Heidelberg, Bittel r went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored.

The Pioneers (0-5) will return to the field on Saturday when they travel to New Haven, CT to face Albertus Magnus at Quigley Stadium. The double header is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
