UTICA, NY – The Utica College baseball team welcomes Cazenovia College Friday for Senior Day at the UC Baseball Field … First pitch of the nine-inning game is set for 4 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT: UC is coming off a sweep of Keuka College Wednesday at home as it downed Keuka by scores of 8-5 and 10-8 … Pitchers Stephen Szatko (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit Valley) and Joshua Webb (Verona, NY/VVS) recorded the wins for the Pioneers as both remain atop the Empire 8 in several categories … Catcher Thomas Dinnen (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas ) put together a 6-for-7 day at the plate with five RBI and two runs to lead the Pioneers … Dinnen went for 4-for-4 in game two marking the second time this season he has recorded a perfect day with four hits.

TWO MORE WINS: Utica moved its overall record to 19-13 Wednesday and now needs to win its final two games to tie the most wins in a season in 24 years … The Pioneers last won 20+ games back in 1991 under Head Coach Don Guido when they compiled a 21-9 overall record.

DINNEN's ON FIRE: Everyday backstop Thomas Dinnen (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas ) started April with a .220 batting average and now is second on the team with a .336 mark … Since April 3^rd, he has posted eight multi-hit games including two 4-for-4 outings … Dinnen is hitting .423 in the month of April as he went 30-for-71 with 20 RBI, 14 runs scored including seven doubles and one homerun … He has hit safely in 16-of-20 games during his hot streak.

WATSON DOES IT ALL: Senior Ryan Watson (Deerfield, NY/Whitesboro) is currently third on the team in batting with a .314 average while leading the rotation with a 1.67 earned run average … His ERA is first in the conference while opponents are hitting just .213 off of him, good enough for third in the league … He is also third in the E8 in runs allowed (13) and fourth in hits given up (29) … At the plate, he is currently riding a seven game hit streak while batting .384 going 10-for-26 with eight runs scored.

UC's CLEANUP:  Brandon Thomas (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham) currently leads the team with an impressive .344 average … Thomas has registered a hit in 14 of his last 15 games including six multi-hit contests … On the season, he has hit safely in 23-of-26 games, leading the team … His .344 average is fourth in the conference.

SZATKO'S MOUND: Stephen Szatko (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit Valley) has pitched in 10 games this season for UC and compiled a 6-2 overall record … However, UC holds an 8-2 mark in those contests … He has thrown a team-best 54.0 innings allowing only 26 runs (12 earned) while striking out 41 … He leads the Empire 8 in wins while fourth in ERA (2.00) and innings pitched (54.0).

BACK ON THE DIAMOND: The Pioneers return to action Tuesday for their final game of the regular season in Clinton, NY for the 28^th Annual Jackie Robinson Game … First pitch is set for 4:15 p.m. at Royce Field.
