UTICA, NY - The Utica University men's golf team will be competing in the Empire 8 Championships this weekend on Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19. Carter Lathrop (Walworth, NY/Gananda) will be first up for the Pioneers, teeing off at 1 pm.

Course: The championship will take place at the Lebanon Country Club in Pennsylvania.
 
Line-up: Adam Woodmansee (Brewerton, NY/Paul V. Moore) currently ranks 70 in the region, with a scoring average of 80. In six total rounds, Woodmansee has accumulated two wins and two top three finishes. Nathan Macdonald (Canton, MA/Canton) has a scoring average of 80.9 in seven total rounds. He has earned one win with a scoring average of 4.50. Daniel Maloney () has tallied one top three finish with an 82.1 scoring average. Neil Roman (Oswego, NY/Oswego) has a scoring average of 82.8 in six total rounds. Louis Roman is shooting plus ten on the year, with one win under his belt. Carter Lathrop (Walworth, NY/Gananda) is the last player on the roster, averaging a score of 88.1 in a total of four rounds.
 
Last Fall: The team's best finish in the fall was at the SUNY POLY Invitational, where they finished in first place. The Pioneers also performed well at the Canton Invitational, finishing second out of seven teams. At the Oswego Invitational, the team finished fourth and seventh out of eight teams. In the October Empire 8 Championships, the Pioneers placed third out of eight teams. 
 
Teams Attending: Russell Sage, SUNY Oswego, SUNY Canton, Nazareth University, St. John Fisher, SUNY Poly, and Keuka College will all be attending.
 
Next up: On Monday, April 21, Utica will be headed to Rochester to take part in the Nazareth Spring Invitational. The time of the match is to be determined.
