Utica, NY (1-23-12) – Freshman diver Sarah Cifonelli, of the Utica College women’s swim and dive team, was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 22, 2012.

Cifonelli, from nearby Sauquoit, NY, recorded her first two collegiate victories as a Pioneer.  She posted another solid performance on the one-meter board Saturday as she recorded the meet’s highest scores of 167.48 and 131.18 in both events.

The local native has registered four third place and three second place finishes in her freshman campaign.

The Pioneers return to the pool Saturday as they travel to Rochester, NY for a meet against the Golden Flyers.  The competition will be held at the Schults Center and is set to start at 1 p.m.
