Utica University Athletics

Utica, N.Y (11/22/10) – Senior point guard #James Patterson# (Poughkeepsie/Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) of the Utica College men’s basketball team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 21, 2010. 

Patterson averaged a team-high 18.5 points, four assists, four rebounds and four steals per game as the Pioneers opened the season with two victories.  He scored a team-high 21 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out four assists and recorded four steals in Utica’s 75-63 win over local rival and nationally-ranked No. 19 SUNYIT on Friday night. 

He also added 16 points and four steals as the Pioneers’ defeated host Potsdam State, 62-59, in their season-opener on Monday night. 

Utica will host Oneonta State in its home-opener Monday night at the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium.  The contest is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
