Utica, NY (10/27/14) – Laura Homer-Gunther of the Utica College volleyball team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
In four matches, Homer-Gunther racked up 33 kills, two service aces, ten digs, and nine total blocks. Her best performance was in the Empire 8 cross over tournament; playing against Elmira and Fisher, she combined for 24 kills, one service ace, eight digs, and six total blocks.
Homer-Gunther now leads the team with 65 total blocks and is second on the team with 219.5 points. Her 165 kills rank third on the squad and she has also added 43 digs on the season.
Utica will conclude its season next Saturday as it travels to the Houghton Tournament. UC will take on Cortland at 11 a.m. followed by Buffalo State at 1 p.m.
