UTICA, NY – Freshman forward Megan Myers (Las Vegas, NV/LA Selects) of Utica College women’s hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 30.

Myers had her first career hat trick in the Pioneers’ 4-2 victory over Potsdam on Saturday. She also scored one goal and added one assist as UC lost to Potsdam in the second game of the conference double-header on Sunday.

Myers has scored team-high 13 goals and she also has eight assists (21 points ranks second on the team). She ranks fifth in the nation in rookie scoring averaging 1.24 points per game and earlier in the year she was named the ECAC Women’s West Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 21, 2010.

The Pioneers (10-7, 6-6 ECAC West) return to the rink on Feb. 5 for another conference encounter against Neumann University in Aston, Pa. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7 p.m.
