UTICA, NY – Senior Sarah Wiatr of the women’s track and field team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week after her performance at NCAA’s.

Wiatr placed fourth in the triple jump after recording a leap of 12.01 meters at the NCAA Championships hosted by Grinnell College on Saturday. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named her an All-American in the triple jump on Monday. Wiatr is now a five-time national meet qualifier in the triple jump and has now earned All-American status twice in her college career. Last year she became the first female in program history to earn All-American status when she earned All-American in the triple jump in outdoor track and field. 

She broke her own indoor school-record (11.86) at nationals and currently holds the program's top mark of 12.01 meters in the indoor triple jump. Wiatr also holds the program's outdoor triple jump record of 12.05 meters. 
 
The track and field team begins the outdoor season on March 26 as they travel to Hamilton College. The meet is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
