UTICA, NY – Junior goalie Marissa Hotaling (Whitesboro, NY/Syracuse Stars) of the Utica College women’s hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 27.

Hotaling made a career-high 52 saves to help UC defeat Elmira 2-1 in the ECAC Women’s West Conference Tournament held on Saturday. The victory helped the Pioneers advance to the semi-final of the conference tournament and improved their record to 13-13.

For the season she has recorded a 93.2 save percentage, saving 599 of 643 shots in 19 games. She ranks seventh in the conference with a 92.2 save percentage in conference play and eighth with a 2.85 goal against average.

The Pioneers will return to the rink on March 5 when they travel to Rochester, NY to face nationally-ranked No. 2 RIT. The puck is scheduled to drop at 3 p.m.
