Senior defender Zach Borsoi of the men’s hockey team was named the Utica College Male Athlete of the Week for his performance in the ECAC West Semifinal game against Neumann.
            Borsoi had two goals in the game that helped the Pioneers clinch their way into the Championship game with a 4-3 victory. His first goal gave UC an early 2-0 lead but it was his game winner with 2:16 left to go in regulation that sealed the team’s ticket.
            On the season, Borsoi has 13 points on five goals and eight assists. The game against Neumann was only the third time this season that he scored and the first multi-goal game on the year. Borsoi’s 13 points ranks him 11^th in the conference for defenseman scoring.
            The team is back in action on Saturday for the ECAC West Championship game against Hobart. Puck-drop is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
