Sophomore forward Lauren Patterson of the women’s hockey team has been selected the Utica College Female Athlete of the Week for her play in the ECAC West Conference Tournament.
            On Thursday, Patterson totaled three points on one goal and two assists in the team’s quarterfinal game against Oswego State. She tied the game early on as she single-handedly worked her way through Oswego’s defense. Eventually the Pioneers went on to win that game 5-3. On Sunday against #1 Plattsburgh State, Patterson did not register a point but she did fire five shots on goals as the team dropped the contest 6-1.
            Overall, Patterson had 12 points on the season with five goals and seven assists. The team went 6-1 on the season when Patterson tallied at least one point. Last season, she finished third on the team with 35 total points with 12 goals and 23 assists earning All-Rookie status by the All-USCHO Teams.
            The team finishes with a 17-9-1 record overall with a 11-6-1 record in the ECAC West.
