Sophomore attacker Dominic Castiglia of the Utica College men’s lacrosse team has been selected as the College’s Co-Male Athlete of the Week for his performance against Stevens and St. John Fisher for the Pioneers.

Combined, Castiglia had six points on four goals and two assists in the games but his big performance came Saturday against the Cardinals. He scored four times and added an assist in the team’s 13-6 victory against St. John Fisher. It was the first time that the Pioneers defeated the Cardinals since 2013.

On the season, Castiglia ranks fifth in the Empire 8 scoring 2.71 goals per game. He is also eighth with 3.43 points per game. Castiglia is second on the team with 48 total points on 38 goals and ten assists. He is one of two players on the team who have passed the 30 goals mark on the season.

The team returns to action on Wednesday for a road matchup against Hartwick College. Game-time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
