Utica University Athletics

Junior Rylee Meelan of the Utica College field hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.
 
Meelan led Utica with five points in two games last week.  On Tuesday, she scored Utica’s only goal in a loss to #9 Hamilton.  She followed that up with a goal and an assist as the Pioneers defeated Stevens 4-1 on Saturday.  On the season, she leads the team with seven goals and a career-high 18 points.
 
The Pioneers are 6-4 overall and 3-2 in the Empire 8 Conference.  They return to action Saturday as they host Washington & Jefferson on Saturday.  Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
